Education and Teaching
‘Following art school I began working as a part-time studio teacher, and then at the University of East London taught and led Fine Art and Design courses. Later I undertook senior management roles including Dean of Architecture & Visual Arts, Subject Director Fine Art, and Head of Art & Design. Apart from some External Examining I am no longer involved in Education, but am concentrating on my studio practice.’
Pete Cobb's most recent academic role was Academic Lead for Visual Arts at the University of East London (UEL), additionally leading the school’s Foundation Year in Art & Design and BA Interior Design, and acting as Link Tutor for Art & Design programmes at Legenda Education Group Malaysia. He also established the UEL Fine Art Project Space at Trinity Buoy Wharf and curated a three year programme of student, alumni, and professional experimental projects and exhibitions.
